Research Program
At the intersection of precision medicine, genealogy, and health communication, our research branch works to prevent hereditary disease before it starts. Inspired by and built upon the ConnectMyVariant framework, our research focuses on helping individuals with inherited genetic variants connect with others, trace shared ancestral origins, and empower families with life-saving health insights. Research opportunities may be focused on one or more inherited conditions, genes, and/ or variants.
Whether you are seeking opportunities to participate in research or represent an academic, clinical, or community organization, we invite you to connect with us.

This is a global family study for adults with a known variant in themselves or a family member which are specific rare (potentially hypomorphic) variants in BRCA1 and BRCA2 and is focused on clarifying variant-specific risks. This is a collaboration between the RUNX1 Research Program, the ClinGen Multiple Myeloma - Variant Curation Expert Panel (MM-VCEP) and ConnectMyVariant. The goal is to help people with RUNX1 variants of uncertain significance build their family trees and help relatives get genetic testing in order to reclassify the VUS.
